Open and closed profile

The three visibility modes, what the profile shows, and how to close it again.

A public profile shows your collection or only the records for sale. Visibility is switched in your account and saved automatically.

A closed profile is “Private”, an open one is “Public”. In between there is a middle mode, “By link”.

Where to switch visibility

Visibility is set in your account. Selecting a mode saves it automatically; there is no separate Save button for visibility.

  1. Open “Profile” in your account.
  2. Go to “Public profile”.
  3. Find “Visibility”.
  4. Press the mode you want and wait for it to save.

Learning mock-up: Public is selected, visitors see only records for sale, and the Crate Digs checkbox is on. These are example settings; choose the mode that suits you.

The three visibility modes

The mode names match the interface: “Private”, “By link”, “Public”. “By link” is not a password: anyone who has the link can view the profile and forward it further.

ModeWho sees itCrate Digs and search
PrivateOnly the owner; others get a 404 page.No sales in the shared feed.
By linkAnyone with the link; no password. Not indexed; no sales in the shared feed.
PublicAnyone.Indexing is allowed; in Crate Digs only with a separate checkbox and actual sales.

What the profile shows

Choose what the profile shows: “Whole collection” or “Only records for sale”. The “Only records for sale” mode hides the rest of the collection and its size.

Personal notes, tags, and storage location are not published. For records for sale, the condition, price, and seller note are visible; the copy's BPM and key may be visible too.

Crate Digs

Showing records in Crate Digs is enabled separately. It needs the “Public” mode, the “Show my records in Crate Digs” checkbox enabled, and a copy with the “For sale” status.

A public profile alone does not sell records. The city for Crate Digs is a separate checkbox in the location setting.

How to close the profile and what it does not affect

To close the profile, choose “Private”. It saves automatically, and the previous link stops working for others. Your personal collection stays in your account.

A QR passport for a specific copy has its own rules and is not closed automatically by this setting. A public shared audio excerpt is also independent of profile visibility.

  1. Choose “Private” — saving is automatic.
  2. Check the link in a private browser window: it no longer opens for others.
  3. If needed, check the QR passport rules separately.

If in doubt, open the profile in a private window and see what a visitor sees.
