Audio file privacy
Shared short previews, a private source up to 20 MB, and deletion timelines.
The library has two kinds of audio. A shared preview is a short excerpt in the DJ Crate catalog that helps you recognize a track and check BPM/key. A private source is a full file up to 20 MB that you upload yourself with explicit consent.
Below: who hears what, how long your file is stored, and which profile fields visitors do not see.
A shared preview and a private source
Shared short excerpts are available to everyone in the catalog. By default your upload belongs to your account and is available only to you. In the QR sale offer section you can separately enable Buyers hear my uploaded audio; it then becomes available to buyers while the copy is for sale.
- Open a record in your own collection and find the track.
- Press Upload audio and choose your own file, up to 20 MB.
- Read the consent terms and confirm your right to upload the recording and create a shared short preview if you agree.
- Wait for the upload to finish and check that the file appears next to your track.
Storage and deletion timelines
The full file is deleted automatically and permanently 20 days after a short excerpt is prepared successfully. If a shared preview already exists or processing did not finish, a separate period applies to the source — 20 days.
What the profile shows
Storage location, personal notes, and tags are not shown to visitors — they stay in your account. On a sale listing, the price, condition, and seller note are visible; your copy's BPM and key may be visible too.
